When you host a blood drive in your school, organization, church or community, you can touch more than just three lives – you can touch hundreds, even thousands!
Once you book the WHHCBC Bloodmobile, leave the rest to us. We provide everything you need from start to finish. We even bring cookies, juice and a gift for each donor.
From schools to businesses, religious organization to community gatherings, the bloodmobile can roll up just about anywhere there are blood donors ready to save lives.
In order for your organization to host a blood drive, you must have an assigned blood drive chairperson in place. An enthusiastic, dependable blood drive chairperson is one of the primary keys to a successful drive. Below is an overview of the steps involved when hosting a drive.
As the chairperson you will work with our Recruitment department to select a date and time that will accommodate the largest number of donors. The WHHCBC representative assigned to your drive will work closely with the chairperson to plan a memorable lifesaving event!
You and the WHHCBC representative will determine an achievable goal for your blood drive. We count on this goal to help meet our daily needs for the patients in the hospital.
Get others from your organization who are outgoing to help ensure your organization meets its blood drive goal.
Your WHHCBC representative will provide you with the needed materials designed to help get the word out. This could include posters, table tents, social media post, and other tools for publicizing your blood drive. Your representative can also coordinate an educational presentation to help increase collections.
The key to recruiting people to donate is by asking. Studies have shown the most common reason people have not donated is because they haven’t been asked. Be enthusiastic, positive, encouraging, and explain the importance of donating blood.
Ask for donor’s comments. Review the blood drive with your WHHCBC representative to help improve future blood drives. This helps us be able to help serve the community better
