Winter Haven Hospital Community Blood Center is proud to provide the critical link between blood donors and patients in need. Our commitment to remaining focused on this goal enables us to ensure that our patients have more tomorrows and brighter futures.

We are the only provider of blood products and services to Winter Haven Hospital and Winter Haven Women’s Hospital. As inventory allows, additional units are provided to other hospitals through a national resource sharing program.

Some patients need to give blood components as part of their treatment for certain diseases.

Therapeutic Phlebotomy Order Form

Individuals with Hereditary Hemochromatosis will not be charged for therapeutic phlebotomy. Individuals who have Secondary Polycythemia due solely to testosterone therapy and who meet all other volunteer donor criteria may not be charged.  Please be aware that these units may be transfused to patients.

Before a scheduled surgery, some patients referred by a physician can store their own blood for transfusion.

Testing Statement:  Donor testing for transfusion transmitted infection is performed by Creative Testing Solutions (CTS) 10100 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33716.  CTS is a fully accredited, state of the art laboratory for testing donor specimens.  Supplier qualification documents are available upon request.
